Congenital Abnormalities (Congenital Disorders) is a disorder in the structure, function or body metabolism that is found in the baby when she was born.

Approximately 3-4% of the newborn has a severe congenital abnormality. Some new abnormality found at the time the child begins to grow, which is about 7.5% diagnosed when the child was 5 years old, but mostly mild.

Most babies born with congenital abnormalities have parents who obviously do not have health problems or risk factors. A pregnant woman who has attended all her doctor’s advice for one day give birth to healthy babies, it may be later gave birth to a baby who memilii congenital abnormality. 60% of cases of congenital disorder of unknown cause, the rest are caused by environmental or genetic factors or a combination of both.

Structural abnormalities or metabolic disorders caused by:
- The loss of certain body parts
- Abnormalities of the formation of a particular body part
- Inherited disorders of body chemistry.
Major structural abnormalities is most frequently found abnormalities of the heart, followed by spina bifida and hypospadias. Read more in Children

The disorder is usually a loss of metabolic enzymes or incomplete formation of the enzyme. This disorder can be dangerous and even fatal, but usually does not cause significant disruption in children. Examples of metabolic disorders is Tay-Sachs disease (a fatal disease of the central nervous system) and phenylketonuria.

Other causes of inherited disorders are:
Use of alcohol by pregnant women
Use of alcohol by pregnant women can cause fetal alcohol syndrome and certain drugs taken by pregnant women can also cause congenital abnormalities....
