September 11,2001 is a date that all Americans and people all around the world will remember for the rest of their lives. No one could have ever thought something so tragic and twisted could happen to a country like the United States of America. Many think that the events that occurred on this day were acts of terrorism, while others think that it was a big conspiracy. After this event took place, terrorism became the primary focus of prevention.
The events that occurred on September 11, 2001 were also viewed as possible acts of conspiracy. The idea of a plane deviating from its course without action from any government agency in today’s modern technology is not possible. These planes were traveling at a rate of six hundred miles an hour. For them to hit their intended targets the government agencies were negligent. On September 11, 2001, 19 members, part of Islamic extremist group Al-Qaeda hijacked four Airliners and carried out suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The attacks caused many deaths and destruction, directing all U.S government agencies to focus on anti- terrorism initiatives and focusing on how George W. Bush administration responds.
On September 11, 2001, at 8:45 a.m., the first American Airlines Boeing 767 flew directly into the North tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, crashing into the 80th floor, killing hundreds of people and trapping hundreds more in higher floors. As the evacuation of the tower and its twin got underway, 18 minutes after the first plane hit a second Boeing 767–United Airlines Flight 175 suddenly appeared and hit the other tower around the sixtieth floor, causing a massive explosion.
The attackers who hijacked the planes were Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia. They were part of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Some of the terrorists had lived in the United States, taking flying lessons at flight schools. Some of the attackers came in to the country through Canada just a few months before September 11 2001 attacks. The 19 terrorists had box-cutters and knives that they smuggled across security at three major airports and took four flights going to California. The terrorists took over the planes to act on their terrorist plots.
As the world watched the devastation take place in New York, another plane was reported hitting the Pentagon causing more fatalities of military personnel and all the people on the plane.
Devastation continued with the World Trade center buildings starting to collapse, unable to withstand the large volumes of jet fuel form the large jetliners on fire, the buildings could not handle the tremendous heat generated by the burning jet fuel. At 10:30 a.m., the other Trade Center tower collapsed. 2996 people died in the World Trade Center, including 343 firefighters and paramedics, 23 New York City police officers and 37 Port Authority police officers who were incredible heroes trying to save lives.
The fourth plane was stopped by the passengers from it’s terrorist plot. The passengers overtook the 4 terrorists, forcing the plane to crash to the ground in Pennsylvania.
Based on information collected by independent agencies, there is speculation the U.S government divisions allowed this tragic event to take place. They did not react to the planes leaving their flight plan. There was no alert on the potential hazards this would cause. The horrific idea that these planes were allowed to become mass weapons of destruction, lethal weapons to destroy human life? For what? Well, by allowing this so called terrorism to happen on American soil, this would allow America to retaliate. America...
