Drug Addiction and Abuse
The use of drugs for nonmedical purpose carries a risk for the user and our society. Our society pays the cost of injuries to nonusers as well as self-inflicted injuries to the users themselves. The society ultimately pays the cost of all acute and chronic toxicity through the loss of productivity and by subsidizing medical care, providing welfare assistance to user’s family and dealing with special educational needs of children whose brains is severely damaged before birth. Drug addiction has caused a lot of problem in our society and we need to find away to control the problem of drugs use among our younger generation. There are several reasons why some people use drugs whether it is medical or recreation purpose. Prescription drugs also causes a negative effect such as addiction, tolerance, physical dependence and death is something we all need to be aware of too. This will explain what drugs use will do and what effects it has on us and our families, jobs, and friends and explain how it affects takes place and causes addiction and abuse.

What is Drug Addiction?
Drug addiction is a chronic disease the affects the brain and just about everyone is different. These drugs affect different people in different ways. One person can take and abuse a drug, yet never become addicted, while another person merely has one experience and is immediately hooked on the drug. Drug addiction is a person having to the drugs repeatedly regardless of the damage it does to their health, family, career, and their relationship with their friends and the community. Addiction is not limited to just drugs. People can be addicted to many things, like food, gambling, shopping, or anything that gets in the way of a healthy lifestyle.
