Source Problems

Tata Group, a successful Indian multinational conglomerate company and family-owned business, was founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868 and was recently taken over by Cyrus Pallonji Mistry in 2012 (Engardio and Nandini 2007). Seven sectors comprising of engineering, services, consumer products, materials, information technology and chemical form the company business. Tata Group has expanded over 100 companies over 80 countries with each of them operating independently. Companies going global are prone to different problems and Tata Group with a wide diversification of business and investments are no less different. Based on the case study, this report will look, analysis and suggest solutions to three secondary problems that Tata Group face.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Tata Group has committed to a code of conduct and stood strong on their commitment with regards to their business and actions towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) (Engardio and Nandini 2007). As one of Tata Group’s biggest challenges they are facing is retaining value system, the importance and responsibility towards CSR could change in the future.

Diversification of Culture
